Dont know if this is the right place for this. But, has anybody used or is going to use the paperless drywall?. I just saw it at the HD and it seems like a great idea but nobody at HD seems to know either about ease of installation, how it accepts mud/paint and how it is for hanging things from it ie fixtures paintings etc

I haven't used it, but I'm considering it.  Unfortunately, I read a lot of negative comments from folks who have tried the DensArmor brand.  Most of the complaints center around two issues:

1) It's more flexible.  So, if your studs aren't straight, plumb, etc, your walls will be noticably wavy.

2) It's hard to dimple the screws.  When you fasten drywall, you want the screw heads to set just below the surface, to make finishing easier.  However, you DON'T want to drive the screws so deep that they break through the drywall, because that makes a very weak connection.  With regular drywall, you drive the screws until the head makes a small dimple in the drywall, but stop before it breaks thorugh the paper.  With paperless drywall, it is apparently very difficult to get the screws set correctly.

2+) It's also heavy, itchy, and has a rough surface.  Those aren't deal-breakers, but they are drawbacks.

USG's Aquatough may be better.

Fine Homebuilding's discussion board has lots of discussions on this.  Here's one.....

Also realize the entire sheet needs a skim coat to create a finished surface.  This would add some cost to the installation.  I still would not use any drywall behind tile in wet areas, paperless or not.
