Hi All,

Does anyone have an opinion on the "whole enchilada" book & DVD deal offered here? I am just getting started and can still make use of any help I can get. Should I go ahead and order?

Thanks, Mark

I didn't buy the "Whole Enchilada" because I already had several of  the books listed. BUT I did buy the the book, all of the reports, all of the Construction Bargain Strategies books and several other MP3 & DVD files.

Mark's book and related information IS THE BEST MATERIAL AVAILABLE! If you are just getting started, you can't lose buying these materials.

I took the plunge and ordered the Whole Enchilada. I already had The O-B Book and another so they should credit me back some. I've been on this forum for a while now but ready to learn more, I guess.

With the new Bargain Strategies volumes I decided to get the hard copies and thought I may as well get it all for a reference. The way I figure since I am about to break ground within a few months (hopefully) I may as well use this time to read all I can in between shopping and getting bids and contracts. I am sure I can get at least one idea from each item in the Enchilada to save me more than the cost of the enchilada.

Here's to a lot of reading and DVD watching.

I think you made a good decision. I just retired but was a self-employed photographer for 35 years. I probably spent $20,000 on books, tapes, videos, CD's and DVD's over the course of my career. That doesn't count the classes and seminars I took over the years. I switched to a fully digital studio about 5 years ago. The first thing I did was sign up for a school prior to switching over.

The important idea here is that what I paid for education was a very, very small part of what I was able to earn by having that education. Plus I was able to "get up to speed" much faster with that education and was able to start making money much faster because of it.

The same idea applies to building a house. If you aren't a general contractor and start to build a house without the necessary training... the mistakes you will make and the amount of times you will be ripped off by a sub will be much greater than what you would have spent on the educational materials available from this website.

Just the chapter in Mark's book on change orders... more than paid for what I spent on this site. I took this chapter and read it to my wife. I told her that we needed to do all the planning now so there will be NO CHANGE ORDERS once we get started. She gets to be the boss now and I get to be the boss once we start.

I also bought John Carroll's book on "How to Work Alone!" just in case she tries to change her mind later! Books are a great resource!
