The elevation drawings are about complete and we have made several changes to them. It looks as if the original plan to have all ellipse windows on the front of the plan was too expensive. $800 for square casement vs. $2,000 for arch glass tops. WOW, what a difference!!
The great thing about the SafeCrete is that we can add a detail to the top of the windows that looks like a ellipse arch. By adding 1" thick pieces of SafeCrete around the window and covering it with stucco, the windows will look like they have arches.
We are having a landscape architect look at our land to decide what is the best way to orient our house. He will also design our landscape plants for the house and surrounding areas. He will decide what trees we will be clearing in the beginning.
I will be sending my plans down to a sales rep in Alabama (Mark Schlader) who will be estimating the amount of the SafeCrete I will need to order, as well as mortar. He has been a great help in this process and has turned me to a lot of other people that also have been very helpful. We will be using an installer that he knows in Alabama to install our block for this house.
Until after the meetings,
