Possibly even more geeky than my collection of computer games moved to Tanglewood just yesterday was today's relocation of my computer magazines. They were certainly heavier!

Computer gaming magazines are mostly a dead genre now, at least here in America. The rise of the Internet and the ability for gamers to reach out and download literally thousands of patches, add-ons, modifications, etc. have made printed magazines (which in the best of circumstances are usually a couple of months out of date) obsolete. In a big way, this is really too bad--there was nothing quite like the latest issue of Computer Games Strategy Plus or Computer Gaming World arriving in your mailbox and spending the next few hours reading every single article (at least that's what I did). It was a great way to "stay connected" in the earlier days of computer gaming.
Of course being the kind of person who never throws away something like this, I have compete runs of both magazines. They've had a place of honor in every house I've owned, and today (with much effort--boxes full of magazines are heavy!) they now have a place of honor at Tanglewood.
So mote it be.
