They're finally here! I'd been planning for this since I ordered them back at the end of March.
The shipment itself is on five pallets and they weigh about a ton each, so of course I couldn't take them all. I went ahead and got one this evening and Solar LeRoy will be swinging by with his car carrier truck to get the others tomorrow. Our plan is to move them this weekend (weather permitting).
The batteries themselves come in a huge, heavy crate that looks very laminated (to handle the weight I presume). There are six in each crate, heavily padded with dense cardboard for shocks and stuff. Each battery seems to be in its own very heavy steel "box," probably meant to protect the more fragile plastic and to serve as mounting points for the batteries once they're in the rack.
We've got a lot of work ahead of us, of course. We've got to get the other batteries up here of course, and then there's work to get the third charge controller hooked up, build the mounting rack, etc.
But they're here!

|The box is pretty heavy, all things considered.|
