Drove to Santa Fe today to take the electrical test for homeowner's permit. What a bear! I took it 40 years ago and remember it as being pretty easy. Not the one they have today. Gave me two hours for the 50 questions and I used all of the time. I couldn't believe it! Wasn't thrilled with my score, but was a passing grade. Most of the incorrect answers were New Mexico specific quirks and I should have studied for those. But they are really quirky, like "how many telephone lines are needed in a residence. National code doesn't require phone lines, only has rules if you put them in. I haven't had a hard line in 9 years, I wanted to say "none" but that wasn't a choice. ;-)
But the grader said I should be happy. A lot of people take it three or four times!
