It took longer than the week to mud and texture the walls, but it is finally done. The tape and float took the bulk of a week and a half due to the size of the house. every day the crew of four drove up from Houston to McDade (over two hours), to work on our house. I never heard why the crew comes from Houston to us verse the drywall company getting someone more local, but they did. The texture is knock down and that part took two days, to spray with a large machine that holds A LOT of texture and the crew just points it at the wall and pulls the trigger, out comes the texture. He sprays a large area, then pause, and using a trawl to knock the top off the texture.... One idea we had was to have them texture a sheet of drywall outside, then cut it in to 2'x2' sections, this is then painted with samples of the color we are considering (good thing as some looked too blue for us).... Now, on to priming the drywall, and painting the ceiling.

Every time I see this, I am reminded how large of an area it is: about 30 feet long and 33 feet wide. |
