I've been remiss about posting updates here for a bit mostly because it's been so straightforward. I order a batch of 10 bulbs and when they arrive I select the next room on my list and spend a quality half hour swapping out the CFLs. Looking over my checklist I see I've replaced 190 CFLs with LEDs so far, a surprisingly large number!
One minor complication is that since I can see the end of the "normal" lightbulb replacement I've started looking for something to replace the outside floodlights with. When Tanglewood was built I had 24 lights installed around the soffits on what I called an "emergency light" circuit. These can be turned on at any time I really want to light up the outside -- usually during what I would consider an emergency of some kind. They really look very nice, but of course they're all CFL floods and it's time to do better.
Still poking around a bit here on what might work. I'll report on what I go with when I figure it out.
