Got back into town and let the drywall guys in this morning. They finished the upstairs yesterday. Did a really good job, especially as they said - there was a lot stuff way out of kilter. As much as two inches. Yep, a couple of places like the laundry room. And the guest bath. Old house sagging here and there. We have done a lot to take care of those, but can't get them all without major work and investment. But they made the best of it and it really does look great. My work to straighten out the master bedroom and remove the beam now looks like it was always that way. The rooms look larger, now they are defined by the walls.

They started on the downstairs today. The mud room in back, where we had to jack and shim several months ago to set the upstairs French door, and then I had to trim the other ceiling joists to match looks perfect.

They were able to run quite a bit today as over the downstairs is a whole lot more square. All the ceilings are done as well as halfway down the walls. They will definitely finish running it tomorrow. The finishers will start tomorrow as well. But with all the rain, the projects have taken much longer to dry and thus longer between coats. So it will be through next week I'm sure before they are done. But I asked the contractor to have them do the baths first so we can begin work on the showers and set the Kerdi for the floors. We need to keep moving along.

Drilled through brick for the first floor AC lines this afternoon, in between rain showers. Todd and I will run those through tomorrow and I'll braze them up along with the upstairs lines. As soon as they are finished with the drywall and sanding, I'll charge and start the systems. It will be sooooo nice to work in a conditioned space. The humidity is unbearable.

Section of guest bedroom. I'm still trying to figure that corner out as I know how the hip rafter runs.. And it ain't quite like this. But it works, is solid and is a far better job than I would have done.
Tray ceiling in the kitchen is finally taking shape. It was some months ago that we framed it and at the time thought that was great progress. Now THIS is progress! ;-))
Arches to the den and stairs done. There are two more in the hall.
