That is what Sandra and I have been telling the kids for months. Taking something that has been pretty much the same - framed out - for nearly a year and finally see the rooms fully defined with drywall covering all the studs and joists is always amazing to me. Not to say the framing hasn't changed much in the past year. Looking back at the enormity of the changes we made to it, like when we ripped out the kitchen walls and installed the LVL beam to completely open it up, the furr downs, the plumbing, electrical, etc. Each of those milestones put a smile on our faces as they were accomplished, but it was still all studs. The same basic look. With drywall, you enter a new dimension. I'm traveling so the kids were there today as they got started. So they finally experience firsthand the transformation. They are really stoked as it goes up.
Two guys only putting it up. Said they will take 4 days to get it up and a week to tape and float. Not sure they are working any on the weekend, but we could be done by June 5 if they do work at least Saturday. We'll see, and no problem if they don't. It's taken this long to get here, a few more days won't matter. I'm just really happy so far with the contractor. He has kept every thing he has promised. Wish all all tradesmen were like that, unlike the plumbers on the gas install. ;-)
