First - thank you Steven at Tanglewood for reminding us that days are finally becoming longer from here on out. That makes my day! I keep thinking it's 8:00 pm at 5:00. Really hard to keep up the work ethic under floodlights.
Best thing this weekend was I finally got the drain lines tested without leaks! As I wrote before, I figured I might have a bit of alignment issue, went ahead and cut back a section, refit the problem area by itself, tested and was fine. Saturday back in town, reassembled the rest, adjusting slightly to align better, and Voila! It works!
Still have to figure out the process of inspections. Remember I called the previous Wednesday, for an inspection on Friday? And that seemed far out for them? And they didn't show up? Well both inspectors showed on Monday when I was 800 miles away. The framing inspector left a pink "I missed you" tag hanging on the door kind of like UPS. My heart skipped a beat when I first saw it thinking I had gotten 'red tagged'. But he left his card so I'll call directly after the holidays to schedule with him.
Started building out the drop downs for the tray ceiling in the kitchen. More work (and lumber) than I expected, but coming along. At least another day of work. Had friends stop in for a bit on their way to Memphis for the holidays. They had no idea of the scope of the project! I think they might have thought we were a bit crazy - I often wonder myself.
Now it's time to take a break for the holidays now. Well-deserved I think.
