The last two weeks have been very productive. We are focusing on the scheduling of trades that will need to be on site in the next couple of weeks. Electric and plumbing are done and passed inspection. The panel has been set for temporary power. The slab was poured last Tuesday after the inspection and the framer marked his bolts. The framer started layout Friday. My brother or I will try to be there every day working with the framing crew. Trusses should be delivered Thursday after the walls are up. We've ordered the windows, and committed with the roofer and the HVAC contractor. Things are moving right along, even though my initial schedule has long been passed. Gas and power service has a six-week scheduling backlog. Seems like it shouldn't be that long, but it's a monopoly.

The excavator finished his work last Saturday.  The construction fence and site toilet were delivered Monday morning.  The foundation crew marked the footings Monday afternoon.  The backhoe dug the footings and the electrical trench Tuesday.  Concrete forms were placed on Wednesday.  The electrician and plumber started under concrete Thursday, both should be done by Monday.  Concrete crew will be back Monday to set the re bar and then we can call for the first inspection.  It is starting to take shape and we are very excited.

Grove street is now under way.  We received the permit 4-10 from the city after close to three months of back and forth.  Part of that delay was due to our schedule and the other part was that the draftsman was only able to work on our plans part time.  We had to find another draftsman to take over the project and it cost us over twice what we had initially thought.  We learned that you should have a designer, draftsmen that is capable and will work on your project diligently once you get comments back from the city.  We know better for the next time.  Excavation started 4-17 and should take three days.  During that we need to have a soils test done before the concrete work can be done.
